She was put on a feeding tube and eventually started eating on her own (nori was the first thing the ate). She is now 13 and is as healthy as can be. I cannot thank Dr. Castillo enough.

Posted By : Evelyn Posted : 6/12/2009 Comments : Our family has been involved with NCAH for many years, which I think is a testimony to the wonderful care provided. Our most recent visit, with our beloved Schnauzer,Pfeffer, who was extremely sick, was our most difficult visit(on a personal level.)The entire Staff could not have been more understanding, caring and professional. After an extensive exam and tests, it was determined that although Pfeffer had lived a healthy, long life, his health had declined drastically. Amidst the roller coaster of emotions, we were blessed and very fortunate that Dr.Duke was by our side to guide us,answer our questions and to reassure us Pfeffer would be at peace. She was so patient and understanding, allowing us time as needed, and most importantly, treating our beloved friend as if he were her very own. Our family is forever grateful to Dr. Duke and the NCAH Staff.

Posted : 1/26/2008 Comments : For over thirty years NCAH has been our vet. Through 3 cats and 5 dogs they have given the best and most compasionate care to our critters and to us. When the time comes to put down a pet the entire staff feel has felt our pain and responded with comfort and understanding.
We now have a new puppy, Iris, and we know the Vets and Staff will treat her as if she were they're on pet, they're own family.
Posted By : Marci Posted : 12/18/2007 Comments : I cannot sing the praises of the staff of NCAH loud enough. Dr. Castillo saved our Casey's life when there was no clear-cut reason for his illness. We were coming in on a weekly basis for a long time and the staff treated Casey like he was their own pet. Without fail, the staff was always courteous and compassionate to our animals and to us.
Thank you for taking such great care of Casey (and Ziggy, too!)

Posted By : Elizabeth Posted : 1/6/2007 Comments : I've been bringing my cats to NCAH since 2004, and only wish I'd started sooner. The vets and staff have helped me through the final care and putting to sleep of my two beloved elderly cats (within three months of each other!). Now Dr. Burkhardt and Dr. Heinbuch care for my two "new" cats. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I'm very pleased with the care and concern shown by all at NCAH!

The staff and vets are professional, kind, efficient, understanding, enthusiastic, caring and knowledgeable. I've brought all three of my precious canine family members to NCAH and they've been cared for, treated and appreciated. We've always felt like part of the NCAH family. Three cheers for all of you: Arf! Arf! Arf!
Posted By : Nikki Loomos Posted : 10/5/2006 Comments : What can I say about North Center? We love the staff, the doctors, everyone! Our older cat, Alex, practically lived at North Center until we put him down 3 years ago (his picture is still on Dr. Burkhart's desk) on a day when everyone from the receptionists to the vet assistants came in to say their good-byes. Now we usually only come in for a check-up for our cat, Kaycee and our black lab/Great Dane, Max. Well, not exactly...
Max has been in and out four times in the last two weeks due to surgery, rechecks and sucture removal. Each time, he has been accompanied by his non-furry 1 year old brother, Chase. The staff is so wonderful by helping me with Max, so I can carry the baby. Chase loves going to his doggie's doctor.
I couldn't imagine any other place for my furry babies. As much as I love our pediatrician, I truly wish Dr. Burkhart saw humans, too!
Posted By : Jennifer Sexton Posted : 8/31/2006 Comments : I took my dog for his shots at a PETCO last week and they could not complete everything needed. It was an absolute nightmare for my little buddy. I know he need his heartworm test and I wanted him to be microchipped because he is the coolest dog and I don't want to lose him, so I researched Animal Hospitals and found this one. They were absolutely awesome with my dog. They were very gentle with him and very loving, as if he was one of their own. They were very patient with me as well, considering I had a ton of a questions. Buddy happily went with Dr. Burkhart and even gave her and the staff "kisses" when he was done. They turned a horrible experience into a great one. Thank you!
