The team at NCAH had a mystery field trip. We all met at the hospital on a Wednesday afternoon when we were closed, and no one knew where we were going. To keep us guessing we all took the CTA Brown Line to get there. Not even the DVMs were privy to what we were going to do!
Our destination turned out to be The Chopping Block in Lincoln Square! The NCAH team learned new cooking techniques, prepared a meal, and then proceeded to eat it. The food was delicious. It included seared chicken breast, risotto, and a fresh watercress and radish salad. There was also a strawberry rhubarb crunch for dessert.
This was a great way to get out of the hospital and have a fun time learning and working together on something other than hospital business. Special thanks to our representative Shannon at BI and Chris at McKeon Veterinary Consultants for their help in planning and funding this outing.
Here is a photo gallery documenting our evening. As you can tell by the pictures, a great time was had by all.
Parking: There are 3 spaces just across the street in the Spot Hero lot under the el tracks. These spots are reserved by NCAH for your convenience. Look for the orange NCAH signs. You do not need the Spot Hero app to park in these spots, just be our clients! Access the lot from the alley just South of Addison on either the Ravenswood or Wolcott sides.
Meeting You Outside the Hospital: If you call us a minute or two prior to your arrival, one of our front desk staff members will meet you outside of the hospital and pick up your pet so that you may park your car.
Pet Drop Off: For your convenience, we are now offering “drop off” appointments for our patients that we have seen within the last year. We generally schedule “drop offs” in the morning, to provide ample time to give each patient the attention he or she deserves. When calling to make the appointment, be ready to give a brief history of your concerns as well as a phone number where you can be reached when the doctor calls. Please expect to spend about 10 minutes when you arrive to complete the admission forms. Our doctors and staff will then call when your pet has been examined, and schedule a time that is good for you to take your pet home.
